We waited 9 plus months for this little pixie.
Within two months this tiny person has swooped in and stole all of our hearts. She’s happy and full of life. I have to admit lying in that hospital bed two months prior I couldn’t even comprehend what the future would look like being a mom to a girl. Two boys for 8 years kind of blocks out that area in your brain, no pink no purple no girly aisles in the toy store. Honestly I wouldn’t even venture there or look at any of that it just wasn’t on my radar. I mean I was pretty set on I’m always having boys and even wanted another! I have two siblings, younger twin brothers that I in fact wanted to be boys. So you see I’ve never had a girl that close to me other than my mom and a cousin. No fights over clothes, boyfriends, ect. Maybe I was scared of what a girl might bring or the unknown. When I had my genetic ultrasound she asked “Do you want to know the sex?!” I was sure it was a boy. My third. Eeeek, surprise, girl! Whoa, it didn’t really sink in until I was out shopping and saw this oh so stinkin cute Hello Kitty doll and it reminded me of times when I was a little girl. My favorite thing was a grab bag for 5 dollars at our malls Sanrio store, hence the Hello kitty. I grabbed that Hello Kitty up! It was hers and just like that a whole new world opened up for me.
For this silly little two month old Olive Juniper, a love I never knew I needed.

We took a quick trip to the NC mountains this week and it ended up so much better than expected. We ate country cooking at Dan’l Boone Inn, Canyons, and a picnic complete with tomato sandwiches. We stayed at The Inn at Crestwood where I was married almost ten years ago. We realized that the middle name of our unborn little girl was the same as the cottage we stayed in the night we were married, so wild! We also visited Grandfather Mountain and shopped the stores in downtown blowing rock. On the way home we ended up stumbling onto the high country VW bus festival and saw some amazing buses. Two days full of adventure!

The wait for baby is a long process especially for kids. My boys are watching as we ready ourselves for another little one to join our clan and they are starting to wonder why she isn’t here yet. The constant question of when will Olive be here has started to surface. We keep saying she has to grow big and strong before she gets to meet us, you can just see their little brains working. It’s very exciting to watch them get so excited about a new sibling and all her baby things which have started to take up residence here.
The wait is long.
Waiting for baby sister.

Still in need of a lot of baby gear oh yeah and diapers haha lets not forget the important stuff, but our little girl has definitely made her presence known. We are welcoming the change with open arms and I hope you enjoy seeing the new things coming for our family. I hope to do another post on the shared room with our daughter nearing the days of her birth and after. The wait is on..

We had our home painted while we were lounging poolside in South Carolina & everyone received a new bed. I could not be more happy right now. I guess you could say I’ve been “nesting” the entire pregnancy. We are also getting prepared for out little one. Next post I will include some of my little beans new things and our shared bedroom. Nothing is at all finished but we are hard at work. Eventually I will post a fully completed tour of the bedroom and shared room.
